JS_SmallA graduate of Columbia University, Jennifer L. Silvershein is a therapist for the modern age.  Jennifer has clinical experience working with individuals of all ages. She specializes in adults struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, eating disorders, trauma, and general unhappiness. Jennifer believes in the power of one – a philosophy that it takes a person to help a person – and has a direct, solution-focused, humanistic, and interpersonal approach integrating various psychotherapy techniques.

Jennifer received her undergraduate degree from Union College and her master’s degree from Columbia University. While at Columbia, she concentrated in advanced clinical practice in mental health service delivery.

Jennifer’s therapeutic style is humanistic and evidence based. She practices psychotherapy using an integrative approach to include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Rational-Emotive Therapy (REBT).

She takes a practical approach to psychotherapy and is working to break the stereotypical image of a psychotherapist. She’s been featured in Elite Daily, SiriusXM’s Wake Up with Taylor and more, sharing tips and tricks to help millennials find the clarity they’re looking for. She is available to speak on the experience of loss after going through a breakup, how to find happiness after a breakup and dealing with depression in your 20s.

She completed advanced clinical training in Rational-Emotive Therapy from the Albert Ellis Institute as well as Advanced Assessment and Diagnosis from New York University.

Clinical experiences include; The Renfrew Center, St. Barnabas Hospital, Crisis Text Line and the National Council for Jewish Women.
